Kenzie's Kreations

So these are the rest of McKenzie's Thank You cards that she finished just before she left to go back to California. We both finished them in one afternoon. These cards were a whole lot faster to make than the other card she chose to make. The star stamp is an incentive stamp that I bought through SU! I gave the star stamp to my sister! Her first stamp, oh how cute. My sister loves stars! That was one of her first questions to me when we went to make her cards. "Do you have any star stamps?" I didn't think I did until she found this incentive stamp. What was nice about this card is we could change out the colors. We changed the color of the border between Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, and Gable Green.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Big Deal Alphabet, Heartfelt Thanks, Incentive stamp
Paper: Whisper White, Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence
Ink: Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence
Accessories: Cutter Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals

The New Catalog!

Okay, so I got my Catalogs in the mail! I was so excited to see them on my door step! Let me tell you, I have gone through the catalog at least 5 times and I have tabbed it all over with sticky notes. There are so many cute New stamp sets that I can't wait to get my hands on. They also have a lot of great New accessories that I am excited to try out. I just thought I would share the picture of the new catalog and also share my excitement! Contact me if you want to get a hold of one of these catalogs!

Anniversary Getaway

Well we had a great time this last weekend. I know I said I would update on Sunday and I totally dropped the ball on that one. It took me five days to get myself back together and start blogging again. So anyway, this picture was taken in front of Hickory Nut Falls in Chimney Rock Park. This waterfall is 404' tall. You can't really see that from this photo.
Here we are at the bottom of Hickory Nut Falls. Chimney Rock was a lot of fun to visit. They had a lot of good walking trails and moderate hiking trails.

This is a view of Chimney Rock. The park has an elevator that will take you all the way to the top so you don't have to walk up a million stairs. Although think of the wonders it could do for your glutes!
Okay so we didn't take the stairs up to the top, but we seriously thought about it for, two seconds.
After we went to Chimney Rock we went to Pearson's Falls in Tryon, NC. It was a short 1/4 mile hike to get the the falls. It was really beautiful. This fall was 90' tall.

Here is a picture Walter took of the falls. He did a panoramic type picture but went up and down. He was having a lot of fun with our new camera. It was so nice to get away for a couple of days and not have to worry about the kids. Thanks Kenzie!

She finished . . .

Half of them. Ha ha! My sister has got about 10 more thank you cards to go or so. Anyway, while I was having ladies night she was working on these babies! You may recognize this card from a previous post. My sister picked out two cards that she wanted to make and this one was one of them obviously. She made a few changes herself. She changed the certainly celery CS to gable green and she changed the sentiment. She also didn't want to cut out each and every flower so she just punched them out with a 3/4" circle punch. She also wanted to put the Micro Beads in the middle of the flower instead of the Dazzling Diamonds. I think they turned out Really cute!

Ladies' Night Preview

Here are just some of the goodies I got in the mail on Monday. I love getting packages, don't you!?! I ended up getting the CS and ink pads in ALL the new colors. Once I am able to work with them, I will let you know what my favorite colors are. You can't see them very well but, the round containers are filled with Rhinestone Brads, both Circle and Square.
This is one of the cards we will be making at Ladies Night this week. We will be making cards that use at least one retiring set. This card features a technique using a baby wipe to create a stamp pad. The greeting is interchangeable too. I made this card for one of my good friends who just had back surgery, that is why there is the get well sentiment.

Guess what is coming today!

My new stamps from the Fall Winter Catalog are scheduled to be here today! I am so excited to start playing with the new colors and stamps! I will be patiently waiting for the Brown Truck to arrive. My daughter also starts swimming lessons for the first time, today! She is only 3 but she loves the water. Hopefully this day will go by fast so I can get my package and put together my stamp sets.

So my mom was in town from Tuesday to Saturday. We had a lot of fun. The main thing we did while she was here was look for furniture for three rooms in her house. We basically went to a couple different furniture stores a day! Going to a furniture store is now one of my daughter's favorite things to do. When we leave the house she asks if we can go look at couches.
Saturday we went to the library after we took my mom to the airport. I thought this was a cute picture of my husband and two kids.
Here is another cute picture my sister took of my son putting together a puzzle.
We love going to the library, my kids love to read books. My sister got a new camera for graduation and all of these pictures were taken by her, thanks Kenzie!

Would you believe I won something?!?!

I came home today from babysitting to find some wonderful blog candy from Mary Beth in the mail. What a great surprise! For those of you who do not know what blog candy is, it is when someone has some kind of giveaway if you leave a comment on the blog or make a card, etc. So the "candy" that I won was the Palette O'Prints pad of paper, the So Very stamp set, hemp twine and some random Soft Subtles brads and eyelets. To my surprise there were 3 stamped Bella Images added to the package, my first ones ever! Mary Beth is awesome! You should definitely check out her blog! You can click on her name above or you can find her link in the right column under Blogs I Visit. Thanks again Mary Beth!

Hey No Stamps

Would you believe that this card didn't use any stamps at all !?! Beate was having another one of her sketch card challenges and I thought it was a super cute layout for a card. I added a challenge for myself not to use any stamps, so I pulled out the Level 1 hostess set, Simply Scrappin' Friends & Flowers, that has all the supplies for scrapbook pages or in this case cards. The only other things I used for this card was my coluzzle for the confetti white circle and I also used some scalloped scissors to make the border around the circle. I then took my signo white gel pen and put dots around the circle image to make it match the other scalloped borders. The dimensions for this card are 4" X 4".
So this weekend I was able to place an order from the Fall-Winter Preview 2007 catalog. I wish I could tell you that I was able to get everything, but I do not have that much money to put into my stamping hobby. I'll tell you that I got some Bling, I am really excited for the rhinestone brads! I also got all of the new in color pads and card stock, I am really excited to play with the new colors. So to go with the in colors I had to get the Prints Designer Series Paper, obviously, ha ha. I will definitely miss Cool Caribbean when it retires at the end of this month. I will definitely be stockin' up on the card stock. I also bought a few of the stamp sets and of course the Blossoms & Basics Chip board to match the Pick a Petal Stamp set. I can definitely say I am very excited to get my next order!

Where have I Been?!?!

So my sister came into town this week! Yeah! I picked her up from the airport on Tuesday and we have been hangin' out and having fun. Last night I was able to get some scrapbooking done and she started making some thank you cards to send out to all the people she got a graduation gift from. She picked out one card that takes a bit of time to do so she isn't finished yet and I will post those when they are done. I was able to finish a two page layout for my brother and sister-in-laws wedding scrapbook. Two more down, a million more to go! Ha ha. So these are some pictures of all the people waiting for the bride and groom to come out. They were married in the San Diego Temple, it is one of the most beautiful Temples in the world. I mostly used my coluzzle to cut out all the circles. The smaller ones were punched out with punches. All of the buttons have linen thread tied through the holes. I had a lot of fun with this layout. I was able to fit a lot of pictures on one page.
Supplies:
Stamp sets: So Very
Paper: Simply Scrappin' Summer Sketches, Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Very Vanilla
Ink: Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Accessories: Ivory Organdy Ribbon, Linen Thread, Buttons Soft Subtles, Mini Glue Dots, Coluzzle, 1 3/8", 1 1/4", 3/4", and 1/2" circle punch.
