Thankful for 50 years!

My Grandparents just had their 50 year anniversary, isn't that amazing! They are still going strong. They are such wonderful grandparents and I think they have shown me what a marriage should be and can be if you work hard for it. i was put in charge of making the card for the group gift. This is what I came up with.Since it was their 50th, I had to use gold. My husband said it looked gaudy, but what do you expect when you add gold.
I love the effect of gold on gold embossing. Basically you take your gold card stock and emboss gold on top of it, very elegant. You could do this with silver too.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Priceless , Hugs & Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla , Vellum , Brushed Gold
Ink: Versa Mark
Accessories: On Board Lots Of Letters , Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, 1-3/8 Inch Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Gold Brads, Scallop Edge Punch, Retired Ribbon, Picture of my Grandparents on their wedding day.

Season of Joy

This is a card I made for a class I had at my friend Emily's house. We three others besides this one. I had a really great time and I think the ladies did too.
This card definitely look better in person, I don't know what it is about my photographs. Sometimes the colors get a little distorted. Anyway, until I have a professional photo studio (which will probably never happen, who knows?) there may be some flaws.Supplies:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Paper: Sahara Sand, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Whisper White

Thanksgiving Place Cards and Napkin Holders

I apologize for not posting in such a long time, when it gets near the holidays, my life gets 10 times crazier than normal, or more! lol! So my posts may not be as often. I will really try though.Anyway, I started out with this simple no frills place card for my Thanksgiving table, and I thought it was cute but needed a little more so I came up with . . . This. I added some ribbon, sponging , and paper piercing. I really like the final look. But I wasn't done yet. I needed something else so I made a matching napkin holder. If you look closely at my "napkin" you will see that it is really a wash cloth. I didn't have my pretty napkins until after I took these pictures. It at least matches! :) I used these for my Ladies' Night this month. I think they really enjoyed making them.

Well I am hoping my sister doesn't check my web site that often or she wont be surprised when she gets this.I made this on-board bitty book for my sister who is expecting her first baby in a few weeks. I love that is comes with a box that the book slides into. This is a picture of the outside.

There are those mornings when I wake up in the morning and go outside and there is a crispness to the air. I love it! This also means that Halloween is just around the corner. So I had to have a Halloween card at my Fall Cards Ladies' Night. I saw this great idea over at Dawn's blog, were she used the top notes die to create a cute Frankenstein. More Pages for my Bros Wedding Album

I couldn't bear to show you my messy desk Again, so I took the pictures of the layout on my ugly rug that I bought for $15 for our living room floor. We are on a student's budget ya know, ha ha! There really isn't anything special about this layout, all I know is that I am one layout closer to being done!
I did do some faux embossing with Craft Vanilla and the Perfect Plum ink.
I tried to make the title rhyme, I don't know how I like my hand writing. Oh well, hopefully they do.

Scrap Booking KWerner Style!

When I saw Kristina's color inspiration for this week I thought of some pictures that I could scrap book. I think these colors are beautiful together and it really makes me think of fall.
This is what I came up with. I embossed the leaves with craft Chocolate Chip ink and clear EP. I think is looks really nice in person. You may be wondering where the Bravo Burgundy is, well it is the maple leaf, it almost looks like the chocolate chip.
I didn't have room for lots of journaling so I made some inserts. I made them at the top so people wouldn't have to take the whole page out to read it.

I layered 3 different ribbons to make the strip: so saffron, old olive, and pumpkin pie. I also stamped the letters on DSP Spring Flowers, which is now retired, and I cut them out and mounted them on different colors of card stock.
I also added more ribbon to the tab to help it stick out a little and also make it look a little prettier. I should really start doing this more often and maybe I will get some more scrap booking done for my own family. We'll see. Supplies:
Stamp Sets: With Gratitude, Jumbo Outline Alphabet
Paper: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Bravo Burgundy, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, DSP Spring Flowers (Retired)
Ink: Craft Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip, Stampin' Write Marker Chocolate Chip, Signo White Gel Pen
Accessories: Clear EP, So Saffron Poly-Twill Ribbon, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Tab Punch, Sponge,
